Because putting a flag on a wall is for teenagers and college dorm rooms. Because a garage is stereotypically thought of as a 'man's' space'. And their wives won't let them hang them indoors.

White young men - different homes but I thought they were Marine or Military flags but it looks like there are eagles and yellow flags. One looks like it has a similarity to the Arizona flag.
