My friends son is going to Duke and they are OOS from the Midwest. They were very surprised their son got in because he didn’t have anything special in his record.

Both are better than NC. Only question is -- do you have the cash. A very large number of people do in 2024 in America.

Yet clearly a decent number do, for one thing, financial aid exists. Private schools want a geographically diverse class and every private school on the chart has that.

Interesting - I think Wake used to be about 1/3 NC students when I was there in the 90s

It also was a smaller school then

Found this very interesting. Mostly because it supports my argument that neither Duke nor Wake is overly southern with the largest percentage of students at both coming from NY/NJ/CT, and relatively small amount of in state students.
