It won’t cause life long damage, it will slow down the process of them learning to go to sleep on their own, however you try to teach that, but they’ll still get it.

You can also try switching up or adding to the routine before entering the room. If it's really nap time routine that is upsetting you can try dimming living room lights or playing/singing same song before you enter the room even putting the sleep sack on in the living room and then saying "have a good nap" to things on the way to the bedroom

Also tears aren't a bad thing. Little buddy has picked up on pattern and they don't love what's coming next and they have figured out they can protest it which is so wonderful. Don't feel bad! Trying switching some things up

These patterns can start showing as early as 8 weeks! It's actually a really good sign of development despite being sad and kind of annoying. If the bedroom is only used for diaper changes and sleep - aka not fun stuff you can try spending more time in there playing and singing or being silly. Even doing tummy time or reading books on the changing table can help.

And yes around 12 weeks wake windows usually change a bit or they increase feedings and something might need to be changed schedule wise

Today when I bring my 3 month old to his room he starts to cry. It's screwing up his sleep. Has anyone encountered this? Isn't it a little early for him to draw associations with particular rooms and things he does/doesn't like?
