Ironicallly, the Leaf 12V battery system is very flaky. Needs lots of jump starts.

My parents have a 2011 Leaf that has never needed any maintenance except tires. They have said their range is limited but I don't know exactly what it is now. They just drive it around town, usually like 3,000 miles/year.

We have a 2016 base model Leaf. We leased it in 2016 and then bought out the lease. We absolutely love it. The only problem we had was some squeaking for about a year, but it resolved itself. We've had no repairs. We recently replaced the tires. It has lost one battery cell so now only goes about 78 miles on a charge. We trickle charge overnight usually.

To the PP, there are no oil changes needed in an electric car.

What is your current range? And what charging approach have you used? Did you use the quick charge approach -- we can degrade a battery faster -- or the slow charge (110 volt) approach? How many miles do you have on your LEAF?

I may buy a used 2016 Nissan Leaf with 35K miles and an estimating remaining range of 90 miles. This would be a car for daily commuting and local errands.

For those who have owned a Nissan Leaf for a few years, can you provide some sense of your experience thus far, and annual maintenance costs?
