10-20%, depending how much coverage you want. Glosses will have less. Something like Redkin Shades EQ has 7% I believe.

That is so strange. I got my grays covered for my wedding and had never dyed my hair before. Every single person I spoke to said I should get demi/semi permanent based on what I wanted. I went with the advice and it was great. I would find a new salon. I think you just got bad advice.

Gloss is what I was going to get. Maybe I should have tried it.

I use Demi and I’m about 25% gray. It works well! It’s like 80-90% coverage so if you look really closely, you’ll see some hair is more medium brown versus my natural dark brown. It works well and is so much less damaging than the permanent color i used to do. Also the permanent often went red toned in the sun which i hate

What’s the difference between Demi and semi?

Demi has about 3% peroxide. Semi has no peroxide, which is why it can’t cover grey.

that's what i do, too = very happy with the results. i'm 50, with a smattering of grey - probably more than i realize at this point, since i get this gloss done every six or eight weeks.

i have to say - i actually like that a few greys show through (but just a few). i think it looks more natural/

It ruins your hair. Demi is much better for it. My hair condition improved noticeably when I switched salons and at the same time switched from permanent to demi.

I get demi permanent hair color from esalon to cover my grays.

I just went somewhere to get my grays covered. Never done this before. I don’t have a ton of grays yet but way more than just a few strands. I was hoping to get semi-permanent in case they don’t do a good job color matching as I don’t want to change my overall hair color. Apparently they didn’t have semi-permanent to cover grays, only permanent. Now I want to know if this even exists? Where can I go to get semi-permanent single-process color for the purpose of covering grays? Ideally in Bethesda.
