What age? My daughter got her offer for U9 a few weeks ago.

how young, what age. Were they dropped a team level down, or not even offered a club spot?

Not even offered a spot.

Not sure what you want help with, they always go with the best players. Get them training at Capstone next year and try out again.

“they always go with the best players” Lol. That’s not true of any youth soccer club in the area. Politics often come into play and also the way tryouts work it’s very hard for coaches to know who the best players are if they haven’t seen them play a ton.

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So true.

My senior is off to play D1 next year and the amount of BS complete and total BS he put it up with over the years is insanity. So many years he got cut for a political choice or demoted or benched and we had to even pull him out completely at one point. None of those kids amounted to sh*t and most stopped playing mid-way thru HS or even sooner--MS. HS was actually just as bad.

Did you get an actual rejection e-mail? It’s more likely an error. E-mail your current coach or Technical Director. If your kid completed a year of travel and they didn’t invite them back after tryouts, I would be shocked. Perhaps they are cutting the whole bottom team?

Just because your kid is on the team this year, there’s no guarantee spot next year. I’m not sure why you are surprised. I’ve seen some of the ADP kids, some of them are better than the travel kids.

They watched this kid play for a year on a travel team and then declined to give him an offer the next year. That's not politics for a 9 yo, its ability.

Unfortunately, this can and does happen frequently, mainly at the large clubs. My best suggestion is to find other, smaller clubs that practice near where you live. Look now, email the coaches, and try to start training with a couple of clubs ASAP, in hopes of being offered a spot in the fall.

Did you actually receive a letter saying they aren’t being offered a spot? We are still waiting to hear back from Arlington in general one way or another.

They really don’t care about the kids. That’s all I will say.
