Definitely ask the second club when offers are expected. Also ask if they notify kids who do not receive offers -- sometimes this doesn't happen, so kids are left hanging. No issue at all with asking the second club their timing for extending offers. Frankly, they should have already told you their timing. Depending on the answer, you might want to tell the second club your son has another offer and needs to respond. I think this is an easy ask -- don't worry about offending anyone. These clubs take too long anyway.

DC prefers the second club. It seems that inquiring now won't help much and we have to make a decision before the extended deadline of the first club.

why does the kid (really? the kid?) prefer the second club? The answer better be something like he prefers the coaching or has friends on it or something and not be some perception of superiority.

DC is not a top player (medium to lower level). The offer he has received is expiring soon, and he is still waiting to hear from another club where he tried out yesterday. We don't know anyone at that club. Should I reach out to one of the coaches and ask if there is a possibility for them to give him a spot by tomorrow, when our current offer expires? How should I ask that question properly? Thank you!
