Another reason to get an electric car. No engine to service. Barely needs any maintenance. Tires, brakes, wiper fluid.

Because you dont' take the car in for an "oil change", you take it in for "scheduled service". They run down a checklist of 30+ items and check all those -- wiper fluid, power steering fluid, brake wear, cabin air filter, alignment, and so on.

It is typically 45m-90m at the Honda dealership. No appt needed.

Pohanka told me about 1 hour. But, the others are correct, if it’s a particularly busy day and the bays are all taken, it can be 2 hours.

Yes, It could be 30min or 2 hours. It depends on how busy the dealership is on that date and time.

Yes, this just happened to me at the dealer with an 8:30 a.m. appointment on a rainy weekend morning. Two hours later . . .

Me too! Koons in Falls Church can be super fast like 35 mins sometime or 2 hours.

I spent around two hours getting it done last weekend (oil change, tire rotation, and alignment). I've also had days I was out in under an hour, but I give myself a couple of hours.

Ask the dealership, not us!

The physical process of changing the oil and filter only takes about 5 minutes, assuming the oil and filter are sufficiently cool enough to be able to touch without scalding your hands.

It takes about 10 seconds to remove the drain nut, another 50 seconds for all the oil to drain into the catch basin, 30 seconds to put the new crush washer on the drain nut and put the drain nut back on the oil pan. 30 seconds to pull the old filter, 30 seconds to install the new filter, and maybe 3 minutes to pour in the new oil and check the levels on the stick a few times.

It’s quite fast if you know what you’re doing.

I have an appointment for an oil change. I usually leave it and borrow a loaner, but they called to tell me they won’t have one available, I can reschedule or wait. I’m assuming it takes longer than the “quick lube” type 5-minute oil change places, but no clue how long. Hoping I can squeeze it in before school pickup. Thanks!
