It was not important to marry up in terms of social status or class. I met DH when we were 22 and he was hot, smart, and kind. He grew up very poor and I’m proud of him for getting to where he is today.

It was pretty low down on my list, but I think part of that is because I was in a good position to find an equal. I didn't really have a desire to "marry up".
