I got my daughter a summer subscription to Prodigy once or twice. We've also used Khan Academy.

You need to find an in person tutor. We tried Outschool using the VA grant money and the tutors were not as effective as in person tutors.

At this age you can help her catch up. She’s probably going to camp, vacation, beach. The last thing she needs is to get in the car to attend a class. Third grade math is easy enough for parents to tutor.

We’ve used Wyzant with success over a number of years and subjects. Our kid is older than yours, but just read the tutor profiles and choose someone who specializes in your child’s age. Good luck!

You could ask her school if they have a list of tutors. I did, and mine had a long list of several teachers that work in the school district and offer outside tutoring.

We used Ms. Jericha’s Mathprov Academy on Outschool as a weekly math tutor for about 5 months last year (using VA grant money) and my daughter really liked her.

just get some workbooks and have her do a couple of pages every day over the summer. if it's arithmetic, the kumon workbooks are good. if it's more conceptual stuff and word problems, try '180 days of third grade math' or singapore math challenging word problems.

At 8, I think you could do this yourself at home over 20 min several days per week. It’s not like you need to relearn Calculus for this.

I think RSM has three levels though, so if you are behind you get put in the lowest group for your grade. The idea is that you eventually - maybe the next semester or year - join a level higher.

Hmm, maybe beast academy and start a grade below. It's online self paced.

My DD8, 3rd grade, needs to have math supplementation over the summer. I'm sick of her school reassuring me she's doing just fine when her test scores suggest otherwise. I was looking at Outschool, but struggling to find someone to work with her at a time that works for us. I'm open to one on one tutoring or small group classes. I'm no longer local to DC, so please don't suggest local options.
