I'm with the other commenters. It was bad but at 8, it's forgivable. OP can just teach her son to do better and move on.

I'd be embarrassed. But if I was the other parent I'd also realize this was a 3rd grade boy and 3rd grade boys say and do dumb things.

I would have a talk with my kid about 1- not peeing in the pool (please don't let this thread devolve into an argument on whether that's ok) and 2- not speaking to a friends parent that way. Pee is funny to talk about with friends - not grownups.

Embarrassing and you need to teach your kid the right thing to do. They should know by the 3rd grade.

A friend invited us over to their pool at a country club, and it was fun. Lots of kids playing and having fun. When it was time to leave, I said to my son, say thanks to Mrs. ____ for inviting us to come play at the pool, and my son replied "Thanks for having us! I peed in the pool." My friend either didn't hear or pretended not to hear, but I wanted to die. This is so embarrassing right? Am I overthinking this?
