One MD team is going to have a fall season, but only requires the 8th graders come to practice. 9th graders can come for the games if they are able.

Some clubs combine 1st and 2nd teams of 8th graders to play in a spring league. EDP/NCSL, some move the kids down if the league allows it. Some say screw you and do nothing, which is what our club did.

Its more complicated that you think, because if its like our U15 team, some of the kids are in VA, some in MD and others are in private school- this means kids are split between fall and spring school soccer seasons so the year has fewer practices/games due allow for the HS players to rest.

I assume that you aren't MLS otherwise you would be playing the entire year. So ECNL allows you to play down, but only two players per game. EDP does not allow this (at least that i heard of). Some of the second teams will continue to have a fall season or spring season if you are in VA. Ask your coach what their plan is. I know that high school club teams generally start practice in October.
