The old wives tale is that this happens when you’re having a boy but the opposite happens when you’re having a girl. I also think the prenatal vitamins help. I loved my hair, skin and nails when I was pregnant

My wife really pretty at the beginning of her pregnancy; her skin was clearer, and her hair was great.

Good for you. I break out like a teenager, look (and feel) strung out and exhausted, and my nose spreads across my face (though luckily it goes back, or at least it did last time).

Wow I did not feel more beautiful while pregnant at all! Also felt hideous the first few weeks after giving birth. People would say stuff to me like "you're glowing!" but I really think it was just that's what people say when someone is pregnant. I felt objectively less attractive, and not even really because of the weight. Just felt sick and uncomfortable and not myself at all.

I felt the same. I think bigger boobs, a slightly rounder face, and thicker hair worked in my favor!

Yes, most women are objectively prettier when pregnant. It's a way of them getting more social protection because people like helping pretty women.

Well I wish I feel that way. After 9 pregnancies (don't worry I lost most of them!) I don't care how bad a look due to all the medications I'm on to just have a chance to make it to term.

I have the best hair and skin while pregnant. However, my skin gets horrific melasma, but at least it’s clear and shiny.
I really miss being pregnant. Sometimes I wish I lived a few hundred years ago so I could just have continuous pregnancies and nurse babies.

Happy for you! That is not my experience. My face gets so round when I'm pregnant and I get a little double chin. It's water retention. I also get cankles.
Between that and feeling like my boobs are just so big and heavy while breastfeeding, I do not feel like myself. It's a relief to know I'm done with having kids because I feel like I'm in someone else's body during that process.

This is my third pregnancy so I now know it isn’t a fluke. My face is soooo much prettier when I’m pregnant. I’m not saying I’m a super model but I’m saying I am generally dissatisfied with my appearance normally, and almost always satisfied with it when I’m pregnant. It’s truly amazing. I have no beef with my face!!!! It’s the best 7-8 month (when the hormones kick in) break from nitpicking my appearance. I wish I could somehow recreate it in normal times. It fades by about 6 weeks postpartum and then I’m back to normal. It’s the saddest day when that happens.
