I also use ozempic. A1c normal, obesity gone.

I am doing it with semaglutide (got it from a compounding pharmacy and script via telemedicine online platform). I tried quitting sugar, added sugar, processed foods, simple carbs, starches, wheat/gluten/grains and nothing worked. Really grateful for this drug. My blood sugar is finally going down (and I am losing weight).

Have you had to stay on Ozempic or were you able to keep things under control and taper off of it?

Diet, constantly testing to see what spikes you.

Honestly Ozempic worked for me. My BMI was significantly higher and I'm not saying that's the best choice for you, but it made a big difference in my bloodwork.

Thank you. I am not great about protein. I do eat beans, tofu, nuts, lentils regularly, but find it confusing to know what amount to aim for daily.

That’s great that Ozempic worked for you! I could only afford it if insurance would cover, but I don’t think I’d be eligible at my weight.

You can use a meal tracker app to figure out the protein content of your meals. Aim to increase by 10 grams at a time, up to 80 grams of protein daily, and see how you feel.

Increase muscle mass, cut white bread, cut sugar.

Lift weights
Lose the weight
Increase protein

This looks good to me; I got out of prediabetes pretty easily by cutting processed food and snacks. My meals were always pretty healthy; it was the snacking in between meals that was doing it.

Agree with adding in weights.

You’ve got to reduce your carbs and work on getting more sleep. There’s a connection between sleep and blood sugar. People who work night shifts are more likely to develop diabetes.

I’m vegetarian and have been for 25 years. BMI is 24.4, so I could definitely lose at least 15 lbs.

Sugar has always been my downfall. I tend to overeat to compensate for low energy thanks to insomnia and stress.

I started cutting sugar last week and adding in more vegetable variety. I have at least 1-2 servings of fruit each day. Rarely eat much dairy. I have a solid intake of grains (mostly brown rice, quinoa, jasmine rice, whole wheat sourdough or white sourdough); perhaps I need to cut back here.

Doubling down on exercise starting today. I always walk between 3-5 miles/day, but got lazy on cardio and weights so will add in 30-45 min each evening.

I’d love to learn from others:
- what do you see above that I could do better?
- what did you do that helped?
- how long did it take to reverse prediabetes?

Thanks for any advice you can offer!
