I think 4th and 5th is where I started feeling like most of the stores I’d been shopping at were too young. Gap is still good for some stuff but stores like boden, tea, etc no longer made sense. I have a daughter though. I added Abercrombie kids, Nordstrom, Old Navy.

Old Navy, J Crew Factory, Gap Factory. Eventually the girls get into adult petite sizes and then there are lots of options.

Zara and H&M mostly. Target and French Toast for uniforms.

I just bought my 11yo pants from Old Navy. In general she likes athletic wear mainly. Nike, Adidas and Under Armour.

My DD is 8 and likes stuff from JCrew Kids, Gap, Abercrombie Kids, and Athleta. She is getting more particular about clothing but I still mostly pick it out for her.

My 11 year old DS wears athletic clothing—mostly Adidas and soccer jerseys. He doesn’t really care about clothes but we do try to get his input when buying.

Khakis and polo shirts, obviously.

Um my 5th grader still wears clothes from Target and Old Navy/Gap/Athleta. Hell, I still wear clothes from those stores. What is wrong with those clothes for a 3rd-5th grader? I’m baffled!

3rd grader girls still love Target’s Cat & Jack line She also does some CrewCuts for good t-s, shorts and sometimes a bathing suit. Athlete Girl is cool but it’s more of a treat/splurge.

My son in 5th just wants Nike/Adidas/UA mostly. Premier soccer league team shorts paired with a nike t for example. The asks are usually more for the nice sneakers from him, or something from a particular team. For dressy casual stuff I get basics from Crewcuts. He doesn’t need a lot.

I have DDs, but my teenage nieces have all shopped at Gap and recommended it for my older ES girls. So I don't think you have to stop Gap.

Where do you buy your kids’ 3rd-5th graders clothes? And do you take them in to pick everything or do you preshop to narrow to like 5 shirts and have them pick 2?

So far I just buy whatever and present it to DS who is in 1st. Target and sports stuff from Kohls.
