I'm an expat living in a country that is not caught up with current research on perimenopause, so I have to do a lot of my own research and advocacy.
I am 46. I have every symptom in the book except for hot flashes. Joint pain, vaginal dryness, severe mood swings, bloating and water retention, irregular periods (12 to 48 day cycles), low libido, fatigue, memory issues, anxiety, mild nausea, acne, breast pain, significant weight gain... Other causes have been ruled out via bloodwork, ultrasound, etc. But my current gyn won't prescribe HRT because "you're too young" and "you're not having hot flashes yet."
I'm curious what the standard of care is in the US in this case? Were you prescribed HRT without hot flashes?
Everyone here is telling me to just lie and say hot flashes to get HRT, but I'd like to know what's standard before doing that.
