I LOVE how baseball coaches are still old school with discipline

This. He could be in the infield building sandcastles, or in the outfield picking dandelions and watching airplanes. Instead, he’s watching where the ball goes and channeling his excitement/nervous energy into movement. It’s an easy step for the coach to teach him to go from flossing to tracking the ball and backing up the appropriate fielder.

Sounds adorable. Let the coaches handle it and take a video for yourself to enjoy when he ages out of this.

My 8 year old DS twirls everywhere. at home, on soccer field, on the sideline. I spoke about it several times with him but he still does it.

My DS breakdances in the goal when he's goalie and the ball is nowhere near him. It drives me nuts for some reason but I just keep my mouth shut.

Baseball is boring good for him for finding a way to deal with it.

Alternately move to soccer

It’s fine. My policy for pretty much anything sports team related, is to stay out of it except to clap and smile on the sideline. And little kids always goof around at baseball, it’s boring

I’d say absolutely nothing. It’s the coach’s job to rein him in. Until the coach does that, let him dance.

I'd absolutely let him dance. If the coaches have a problem they'll tell him to stop. The point of playing at this age is to have fun. If dancing is what helps him have fun, then it's all good.

He's a good player, but if the ball isn't hit to him, he literally breaks out in flossing or disco. Part of me finds it hilarious and part of me wonders if it annoys the coaches, who seem good natured but remind him to stay on task. I have to say, it does make the game marginally more entertaining. My question - if it were your kid, would you say something or let the kid dance the night away?
