Fly into Montreux stay 2 nights on the lake then take the train to Interlaken.
Spend time between Bernese Oberland, dont miss Lauterbrunnen, Lucern and Zermatt.
All with train gondolas and breath taking beauty .

This would be stunning.

I'd vote for this if you are willing to burn through some cash. If not, Canadian Rockies or Tetons.

Utah is amazing. We did Arches and Canyonlands one fall. Cool in the mornings and evening but warm during the day.

I also second Banff. Going in the fall when the larch are changing is on my bucket list.

No to Alaska. My family is there and that's termination dust season, plus the days are starting to get short. A lot of the tourist infrastructure starts to roll up by then, too.

I was going to say September in the Seattle area but Victoria and Vancouver work, too. We're local and recently September has been either smoky from forest fires or dazzling beautiful and better than summer itself.

Since you have two weeks, possibly combine this with a train trip west through the Canadian Rockies to British Columbia. It’s absolutely gorgeous.

September/October is a good time for me to travel this year. Including travel time, I have 2 full weeks. I want to see stunning natural beauty. I'm somewhat adventurous - will travel solo (female), but don't really want to drive in another country. I don't mind colder temperatures, but heat/humidity make my skin crawl.

Where should I go?
