He has told me that showering right before bed is the best feeling. He doesn’t like going to bed dirty. This is also a guy who changes his sheets everyday other day.

I mean, if you’ve showered in the evening, you’ve already showered before bed. And that’s alot of sheet changing. How does he keep up with the laundry?

OP here. He’s very clean and we have 4 sets of sheets.

He’s also the type of guy that won’t wear pajamas more than once.

Dump him. He’s controlling.

Yeah I dated someone like this but worse. If I was reading a book from a library he'd freak if I touched anything before washing my hand. If I gave him a BJ he wouldn't want me to touch anything until I washed my hands. He would get out of bed and open doors so I wouldn't touch door handles.

No thanks

Yea, there’s no way you’re washing everyone’s sheets every other day once there are kids in the picture.

This kind of OCD or anxiety disorder does not bode well at all. I'd move on, OP.

Do either of you have kids?

I am imagining wake up and take a shower, take a shower after the gym and then shower again before bed, right?

I take two a day in the spring and summer, A quick rinse to freshen up before sex But if it’s the winter time and I know sex isn’t on the table I’ll skip my bedtime shower.

How exactly does he voice his displeasure with you not bathing?

OP here. He will ask if I want to shower with him or he will make comments like
“ are you going to shower?” “ you didn’t shower?”

So is his reasoning that he likes to keep the bed clean so that’s why he’s big on showers before bed, or does he think people need three showers a day to be clean?

The showers a day?!?!?
What does this person do for a job? When does he have time to shower so much?

Also … I mean it’s your right to shower a mere one or two times a day … why won’t you shower before bed though? He’s asked you to, it won’t cause you any harm … one when you wake up and one at bed time?

My boyfriend and I have been living together for 6 months and hygiene is a big contention in our relationship. He’s a 3 shower a day person and I shower 1-2 times a day. He often gets annoyed that I won’t shower before bed. This issue is causing tension in our relationship and might lead to a breakup.
