To OP - ugh agree this area sucks. Summer is brutal

Just an update. Spent most of the day working outside (like I do every day) and I didn’t melt. About to head to Monument Grounds now for kickball game.

Love this weather.

Kickball? Did this post arrive from 2004?

Er, WHAT?

We’ve had really low humidity so far, especially last week when temps just barely touched 90. Last Wednesday, Thursday the air was really dry. So it didn’t really feel like 90 typically feels here.

I love DC summers. The hotter and more humid, the better. I love pouring out sweat while running and huffing big breaths of humid air. My skin is always supple in the summer and I don’t have to constantly coat myself in lotion like I need to in the winter.

I spend a lot of time outside (both work and play). I think that’s the difference between people who like summer weather and those who don’t. People who spend their days cooped up in air conditioning are always shocked when they have to go outside. They’re weaklings because of air conditioning all day. Sad, really.

You should appreciate summer for what it is - a time of life and growth. Embrace it.

LOL, here’s hoping you end up with a major mold problem in your home.

Embrace the humidity. STFU.

F off and die.

It's not even summer yet and I can't tell how miserable it's gonna be, long and miserable 😢

But my favorite way to deal is to carry a stainless steel tumbler with loads of ice in it and refill my water all day. It does not have to be Stanley sized, but honestly having icy cold water to drink while swimming through the humid air really does help.

Thank you, I haven't tried this.

Same op same. I can't do another summer here, the high humidity gives me migraines. The sun, the heat, the traffic, it's just all too much for me these days. So I get it.

How's everyone feeling about summer 2024? What are you coping plans (travel, vacations, new mosquito tricks, etc)?

Tell me i'm not alone in the depression I feel coming on....
