Other than the fact that they share a title, and the names of many of the characters are the same, there is almost nothing in the show that resembles the book. The book is a very good read, IMO. The show... blech.

Book was soooooo much better. I stuck it out though and kind of hate watched the whole thing. Had so much potential but was just gratuitous and stupid.

I actually thought the very end was pretty funny though.

I thought I'd give it a shot but in the first episode when a pudgy, old Jeff Daniels was banging someone up against a wall I found it very unappealing and that's when I gave it up. That and I didn't really care what else was happening either.

I didn’t read the book but thought the series was awful. What a waste of time. And the ending was gross/stupid.

Just fnished the whole series. It was silly and entertaining and over the top. a David Kelly production but i enjoyed it. I understand that the ending of the show is waaaay different from the book. Would love to hear from folks who read the book and the watched the show.
