My parents are a day-long drive. Would it be horrible to send him without our kids?
Shouldn’t you discuss that with him?
He told me to decide how I want the weekend to play out. I want to honor everyone while also sort of being selfish on Sunday.

Shoot! I thought I put it in my OP but I didn’t:
MIL likes for him to bring the kids. They will be with me on Saturday!
I hope everyone sees this! Ugh, my mistake.
No one needs to see this mistake. You are a big girl. You can handle this.
As you said. Thanks for your commentary. It wasn’t helpful.

Anonymous wrote:My DH works in a field where he works occasional weekends. It never fails that he works MD weekend. I’ve never been one to celebrate, but our parents go crazy, and this is the first year my oldest DD has expressed a real interest in celebrating, so I’m excited for that.
I typically visit my mother on Saturday with my children. DH typically visits his mother when it’s convenient, taking her to lunch sometime in the days surrounding the holiday. Only this year he will be home, but I selfishly want to keep him and my children home with me this year, especially since my DD has grand plans.
When should DH visit his mother?
