I went to FCPS back in the day. No one ever "graduated" from 8th grade. It's not an accomplishment to complete middle school - and OP you think kids should have graduations with caps and gowns?!![]()
Graduations are for actual achievements and accomplishments - this culture of overly celebrating every little minor thing needs to end.
OP- the different is we didn't have TikTok where we see videos of parents seeing their 8th grade graduate from middle school.

I seen all this TikTok taking about the class of 2020 never had a 8th grade graduation, and this year they will be graduation for the first time since they graduated 5th grade. I’m here thinking FCPS never had one ever. They did a promotion ceremony when they were promoted to 7th grade, but they didn’t have any caps and gowns. It was a very small event only 2 family members were invited do the event. It’s sad that FCPS is stealing so much from our kids.
