+1. Wet hair will curl all wrong.

This is what my son wears as well. Yes, teenage boys with curly hair wear these.

Silk/satin pillowcase
Continuous spray mist bottle - some curl cream or gel
Every 1-2 weeks use a clarifying shampoo, wash sparingly otherwise

+1 Silk/satin pillowcase

He might need product. The trick for a boy will be finding a curl cream that works well but doesn’t smell too fruity or flowery.

DD (white, with large ringlet curls) no longer uses shampoo. Conditioner only. Seems gross in concept but it turns out she really doesn’t need shampoo — conditioner manages to clean without adding frizz. YMMV

Get him a silk pillowcase instead. It’s way more comfortable.

One way to reduce frizz is to style hair soaking wet. YouTube has a series Manes by Mel that is awesome.

Awesome thank you. May I ask, how long is your hair and what type of curls do you have?

My son who is an older teen has curly hair that he's been trying to style so it's not always frizzy. He asked that I get him some kind of bonnet to sleep in, apparently that's what kids are doing these days. Does anyone here use these, is there a type that would work for a boy with short curly hair? (By short I mean it stands up, it doesn't hang low.)
