Is she sleeping when baby sleeps? (Which is the standard in my city). If she is sleeping/there is a bed, then there should not be a camera. (Depending on your location, that may not even be legal)

If she’s awake….. I mean you can. But don't fall into the trap of going through the footage every morning or using it to watch her every move. It’s unhealthy, creepy, and can quickly become a habit that is hard to break. And from the employees side, being monitored like that is really demoralizing and insulting. Adults don’t need to be watched in order to behave lol.

But cameras are great to have in the event that something happens or something feels off. Or to observe how she gets baby down in her bassinet without any tears. Plus when she first starts, I would absolutely run through the footage to make sure there aren’t any major red flags.

So just don’t be one of those moms with their little Nest notifications popping up every time there’s motion or a sound. 🤣

Exactly. And you do not have to tell her.

You cannot record someone's voice without telling them.

Do that and she'll quit on the spot.

I see nothing wrong with having a camera that encompasses the room as a nanny. I'm used to indoor cameras here in 2024.

We are due in a few months and have hired a night nanny for 3x/week/10 weeks. The nursery will have a Nanit camera that looks at the crib. Would you get another camera that shows the whole room as well? We obviously checked references and feel good about her.
