What I am saying is that I almost always delete the posts that are reported to me. It is rather strange to be criticized for doing what I am asked to do. I didn't say anything about a central authority. What you seem to have misunderstood is that the criticism of Catholicism often has some basis in reality whereas the posts about Islam are more often to be based on false or misunderstood information. To be clear, I even delete those anti-Catholic posts when they are reported. Why don't you start a thread criticizing Islam and let's see how long it stays connected to reality? You sound very much like the White racists who complain that they cannot use the N-word.
Im OP and my first post on that thread was about Quranic divorce, inheritance, and rape laws and I didn’t editorialize or insult the religion or anybody, I just laid it out. This was in response to somebody posting something like “Islam allows for divorce etc, so you’re all wrong.” I think you know enough about the subject to know that was wrong. Yet that exchange was deleted with the rest of the thread.
Why not simply delete the bigotry, like you do with the Catholic threads? The thread was only 2-3 pages long.
I am not sure which thread you were the OP of but I deleted the thread because it was after 9:00 pm and I had been working since 7 am and I was tired and I had better things to do then go through a thread that was prejudiced from the very first post weeding out Islamophobic, and possibly anti-Semitic posts.

Catholic here. It's not because the Roman Catholic Church has centralized authority. It's because the RCC has protected pedophiles (a statement based in fact). IOW, it's not a criticism - it's a fact-based statement.
RE your Islam example, I don't know what "unsavory things" you are referring to, but if they are fact-based statements then I'm sure Jeff would agree with you.

Anonymous wrote:I feel weird posting this, but why are anti-Islam threads instantly deleted, but the anti-Catholic threads (currently the thinly-veiled "Changing Face of Catholicism" and "communion wafer" threads) allowed to remain?
I'm not Catholic, have no Catholic family members, and would never convert, yet these threads jump out with their bigotry.
I and others report individual posts, but usually just those individual posts are deleted and the rest of the threads are allowed to stand. It seems like a double-standard?
