If you have a crazy dog, why does it need to be my problem? Keep your dog at home or find it another home or don’t allow your kids to do activities where will have to pick up.

It is extremely gross to see poop and pee puddles at stores now. Employees won’t clean it up, owners wont clean it up and it just stinks.

You have to live in the world as it is rather than how you wish. I can't take my dog to certain locations at certain times. I have to deal.

Lean on the principal for school pick up or drop off but know that it might be easier for her to over her fear. You can only control yourself

My puppy is crated when we’re not home, and sometimes we have busy evenings after school with kids’ activities. I stay home with her as much as possible. When there’s no way to get around being gone all evening, I take her with us- usually to the outdoor practices/games where we can stay off to the side, away from everyone. She needs exposure to different environments and people to become a more chill dog as she matures. Sometimes I’ll walk her while the kids are in their activity. I don’t take her inside stores, to the busier athletic fields, or when it’s super hot outside.

That’s nothing. I saw a couple with two ducks in Montgomery Mall a few weeks ago. They sat down and had lunch in Nordstrom with the ducks standing next to the table. The ducks were well-behaved but honked a bit and when the shook feathers flew everywhere.

OMFG. If you don't know how to crate train your dog, hire someone who does to help you learn. "My dog has anxiety, so I can't use a crate" is such nonsense!


Agreed. This is a safety issue. Your dog WILL have to be left alone at some point. You can't rake your dog to a funeral or to the ER. Leaving a dog with such bad anxiety and not dealing with it does nobody a service.

And of course, your pet does not belong in the grocery store, a medical office, the dentist, etc. You not dealing with your dog's issue does not give you the right to impose it on everyone else.

Entitlement. It’s rude. They think their dog is different, better. I’ve seen them everywhere. Grocery stores, Home Goods, Home Depot. These people are rude and entitled.

Today, I was at a Boy Scout meeting at school and a mom brought their small dog inside the school cafeteria without a leash. She was very well behaved but what leads someone to think that’s okay? This is only an extreme but I also know people who consistently take their dogs to places where they are explicitly prohibited - school playgrounds with “no dogs” signs, soccer fields where they aren’t permitted, etc.

Why would someone do this? Of course, I don’t mean service dogs. Like a normal pet. FWIW, I am a huge dog lover but I keep mine at home for most non-dog oriented outings because she’s huge and I don’t want her to scare kids.
