A friend got a prescription for something that was like benadryl that came in shot form, they would dose their child with it when he was becoming violent. Sorry you are going through this.

My son was hospitalized at Dominion for this. Multiple times.

If your child is threatening you with violence you can take them for an evaluation and possible hospitalization or try the crisis center.

This is the disaster created by well meaning parents who think every kid can be cured by diet supplements and the right therapy. Sometimes there are no cures.

And it becomes another blame the mother situation.

I’m sorry you’re going through this.

Can you consult with the team without calling them to your home?

I am sorry you are dealing with this. I know from experience how hard this can be. Sheppard Pratt has a walk in crisis center that you may want to consider. Hospitalization is not easy and comes with its own negatives. We have found the best course of action for our family (after several hospitalizations) has been to create a safety plan within our home. Depending on the age and disability of your child this might be something you can consider and develop with the support of a mobile crisis team. Sending lots of hugs and love to you!

This seems like an ad. Not the OP but this stuff about ADHD Dude and the cost.

Sorry to hear you’re struggling with this.

Huh? What does this even mean? Plan for what?

A plan for addressing violence from a child toward a parent and siblings.

Montgomery County has the crisis center you can reach out to. If you’re somewhere else call them anyway and ask for info on where you should call for your state/county.

For those who are dealing with this for the first time the mobile unit comes out with the police which can be scary and they told us there is mandatory reporting to CPS. I'm not trying to discourage anyone from calling them but not all crisis centers operate like this so it's good to know going in what your call will result in.

I tried calling a few places for help. No one seems to help with this type of violence. The UK seems more advanced in recognizing this is a form of relationship violence. Can someone give me some resources?
