If they are, the parent of that kid can easily complain to the teacher and have the teacher shut it down, because it comes under the heading of bullying. Sounds like OP is a caring friend who feels helpless in a situation where she can't protect her friend from malicious gossip. I cannot imagine asking my children for details about their classmates' parents divorces!

You can't. The soon to be ex told them we'd all come with "stories" and "harass" - so that person pre-empted this. Anyone whose kids are involved at this point will be ostracized. Literally wish these people would google the person they're willing to use their kids to defend.

What does this have to do with Loudoun? Maybe you should include their race and religion too OP. It would be just as relevant to your post.

OP: It is my problem because my friend's kids are practically family. My kids and them are close so my kids feel this too. My friend is suffering and so are the kids. So many people carry water in this area for toxic people. Don't you all have a conscience?

They do sound gullible, dumb and evil to involve the kids and make them uncomfortable at school where they should get a break from whatever is happening at home. But, this bad behavior happens everywhere, often in people who seem mature and concerned about children. It's always the gossips making lives miserable because their own life is so lame.

This is not your problem.

My friend's kids live out in Western Loudoun and until recently, enjoyed the parents/atmosphere out there. Recently, my friend is going through a painful divorce and the soon to be ex spouse has been lobbying a bunch of gullible, bored housewives to use their kids to pump my friends kids for information. Not only have these parents not taken steps to confirm my friend's soon to be ex's story (they bought it hook, line, and sinker), but they're all involving themselves and their elementary school aged kids. Their kids are teasing my friend's kids about the increasingly escalating tensions at home. My friend's kids don't even want to go to school anymore for fear of never ending drama. I don't understand how these parents could stoop so low as to involve little kids. More so, if you think my friend is so bad, why wouldn't you fact check for yourself? How is this the richest county in the US with people this gullible and dumb. There's public, legal information out there! A simple Google search would suggest more to the story. Instead, involving elementary school aged children is beyond low.
