I have 6 different cards.

You can add them all to your Libby account.

If you search for a book on your Arlington account and there is a wait, it will also search your other libraries. If one is available immediately at Fairfax, it will deliver you the Fairfax copy.

Because I live more centrally than Loudoun, it wasn't difficult to go into the different county libraries to show proof of ID. I regularly pick up physical materials (books, DVDs) in Arlington, DC, Fairfax and Falls Church.

Each library has different online services too. I use Prince William's hoopla, Loudoun's Freegal music, and everyone's Kanopy. You can add multiple Kanopy accounts to your smart tv, so the monthly limit isn't much of a problem.

What do you mean? I access MD’s digital library, which includes MoCo’s catalogue and several other counties, through Libby.

I mean that every book that I see that has a wait, it’s like 2 weeks for MoCo and 9 for DC. A lot of books I look for will be available on MoCo and no digital for DC.

I asked if I can verify online and was told no.

For which system?

I don’t because I always have 10 books waiting at a time. I have a constant rotation of books I want to read and add it when I’m done with one. Do you have an issue with getting the book you want from your own library?

Sorry, Brooklyn is showing that you must be a NY state resident. Looks like many of the counties have reciprocity but they all require you to eventually pop in to prove it.

I live in Loudoun and have a card with FFX too. You do need to go in person with proof of residence to maintain the card with FFX. But it’s easy and worth the expanded access.

For those of you who use Libby, do you take advantage of reciprocal libraries? I’m in Loudoun and admittedly not very tech savvy. I see how to sign up for reciprocal library cards online but it looks like after I month I’ll need to visit said library for a physical card. Does that sound correct?
