I oddly remember nothing else about that book, but so now never pre-turn my steering wheel when in left turn land in case hit from behind. Anyone recall what book this was in?
This is also why I don't pull out into the intersection while waiting for the opportunity to turn left - you are just exposing yourself to any possible accident that can take place during the 30 seconds you are waiting. I stay behind the line. Learned that in a superb driver's ed course in California. You can honk all you want. I've never been in an accident and have never caused one.
