Did you never have a best friend in school OP?

It will likely fade over the summer.

Are they attending the same camp?

Haha! I also recommend a boardroom of mentors so they each help her develop a key strength of hers…

Totally fine and normal as long as both your daughter and the other kid get along well and as long as they’re not excluding other kids.

Sounds like she's developing a best friend. Unless she pulls the other girl away from playing with other kids, there's no problem.

You are overthinking this. It’s fine and age appropriate to have a little bestie!

They sound like good friends, I don't see the problem. Encourage other friendships too, of course, but this sounds like a good thing, not a problem in the making.

DD, 5, is finishing Kindergarten and has had a great year. She has lots of friends, in her class and in outside activities, which has been great. She has a core group of five girls she is tight with, and over the last month or two has become very clingy to one friend in particular.

Every conversation is “Larla said this” and “I made this bracelet for Larla” and “Larla is so funny.” The two do play together a lot (what I’ve seen on playground and at drop off) so it is mutual, I think. But this feels like it’s becoming very clingy and cliquey. The other kid is also friendly and makes friends easily.

Is this something to watch for? Or normal for girls at this age? I don’t want my kiddo to be a stage 1, lol, and also worry a bit if the intensity of the friendship is not reciprocated.
