I only gained 14 lbs each pregnancy. I was back in my jeans within 4 days of my c/sections.

I recognize every body is different, but this sounds terribly disordered. “Back in jeans” 4 days after major abdominal surgery is one of the most vain and self-absorbed things I’ve read on here, and dangerous to a recovering incision!

Because everything on the internet is true . . .

Agree, you just need to lose weight.

My other tip is that it may not actually be fat around your belly but a laxness of the core muscles that “hold you in”. You can lose all the fat in the world but pregnancy does a number on your core muscles and if you don’t fix them you’ll have the appearance of belly fat. I found this exercise really helpful: https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2017/08/07/541204499/flattening-the-mummy-tummy-with-1-exercise-10-minutes-a-day

FYI, The exercise in that link is by Leah Keller, the founder of Every Mother. Her workouts are great.

Definitely not sit ups!
I do Every Mother workouts and it has helped immensely with tummy bulge especially due to diastysis rectii. It is also evidence based.

Lifestyle. Abs are made in the kitchen not the gym. You can do 500 crunches and still have a large belly with no visible abs.

Best way to effectively lose weight is go into a calorie deficit. Work out at least 45-60 minutes a day. Monitor your carb/protein intake. Cut out all processed junky foods. Limit alcohol.

I'm slender, size 4 now, but I'll always have a little loose skin at my belly from having a baby. I can still pull off a bikini but I know I have a mom bod look with wider hips. So expect that OP. Overall weight loss is your goal. Gain muscle everywhere by strength training.

Allover strengthening with heavy weights 3x per week and power yoga 3x per week. A decent amount of 360 core work, but nothing different than pre pregnancy. And a healthy, non restrictive diet.

Really depends on how postpartum you are. Sit ups aren’t the answer.

I found this trainer to be a godsend, and still use her two years postpartum. It’s all free.

For those who successfully got back to a flatter stomach or at least reduced the belly fat, what excercise do you do to get it back?

Sit ups?
