The Logan is great but I don't love the location. FWIW I don't like the location of the new Four Seasons, either. Philly has so many nice hotels that feel like they're just past the edge of where you'd like to be or actually on the edge of a not-nice or weirdly inaccessible area (like the Logan).

I really like the location of the Sofitel and that's where we stay when we visit our friends in Philly. It's easy to get to either end of the parts of the city you'll want to explore and you have to go many blocks to feel unsafe or unwalkable.

Notary has lovely rooms and is very convenient for walking to the historic area and super close to reading terminal market. But my kid was a bit uncomfortable with the # of homeless people we saw in the convention center area.

The logan is great - has a grassy lawn courtyard that kids could play in. WE stayed there with 2 dogs and it was awesome. It used to be the Four Seasons. Also love the Monaco and the Palomar - both nice places with good walkable areas. Another one popular with my kids was the courtyard marriott which is near reading terminal market which the kids adore.

Yes. The Sofitel also allows dogs. My dog and I both enjoyed our stay there

We’ve loved the Logan curio ! (Hilton) great location by the fountain, and amazing view from rooftop. Uber everywhere. But nice walks around there too.

We liked the Sheraton in society hill. Walkable to all the historic areas, pool, and free breakfast.

I like both the Sofitel and Palomar. Another one to consider is the Logan. It has an indoor pool and is right next to the Franklin Instiute which I highly recommend.

I'm planning a weekend trip to Philly with my 7YO. We will be going to the zoo but we don't need our hotel to be super close. I'm planning on staying in city center near Rittenhouse Square but I'm open to other suggestions.

What are your hotel suggestions? A pool would be awesome but it is definitely not a must-have because we would probably only use it once during our 2-night stay. I looked at The Rittenhouse Hotel but I'm having a hard time justifying spending $1k+ for 2 nights when we hopefully won't even be in the room much.
