I think once the person grows up they should be free to change their nn or names if they wish. For example my dh went by a nn that at age 10 he like better ( from Billy to Will) and my mom always hated her name...think Mildred. When parents name their kids it is hopeful that this person will like itbut if not thsn just let them choose.
