Or Lynne Harris an incumbent in BOE. Hi Harris.

This is one of my pet peeves about DCUM. If there's anything positive, there is an assumption that the person that started the thread will benefit from the publicity. I'm the OP. I live in Rose Hill.

Years ago JWMS also got a grant to teach archery. My DC loved it. A sport DC was actually good at!

They can do it. It’s a grant. There was a summer training last summer for all MS PE teachers

Yes! It's great and the PE teachers put in extra work to teach the kids who never learned to ride a bike, they've done it for years now, I wish all MSs could do it.

Not at all school. Our MS does not offer it.

I think it's great, too. We taught our kids how to ride, and it does a number on your back. We live close to JW, and we actually took one of our kids there to teach them how to ride our selves when they were in ES.

Lots of kids don't have bikes, and/or their parents don't know how to ride. It's a great place to learn because of how open the space is vs trying to teach them on the street.

I love it! Fresh air, learning a skill you can use for the rest of your life. Something fun during the day. How wonderful! I hope it's offered at all MS.

I live close to JWMS but my kids aren't there yet. Every so often I see a large group of kids riding bikes in the middle of the day through the neighborhood. This morning as I was driving by I saw them all lined up in the parking lot. They had their helmets on and were facing someone--I assume the teacher.

I'm just curious---is this a PE choice? If so, I think it's fantastic. I drove by around 9:30 so I think it's too early to be a club type activity. Does the school provide bikes? Do the kids ride their bikes to school for these days? What if a kid takes the bus?
