Several years ago I used Calico in Old Town Alexandria. Are they still around? You can look at fabric there but purchase online from somewhere that costs less, and Calico will do the work with that.

^ for swatches, I forgot to say that you can go to the DC Design Center and look around. It can be a bit overwhelming if you haven’t narrowed down your choice to a type of fabric or to a brand.

What kind of fabric are you considering? You can save a lot of money by buying a roll from eBay - and an armchair doesn’t require too much fabric. Decorators Best (online fabric seller for a lot of brands) will typically be cheaper than buying through the upholstery shop. There’s always a 10% introductory coupon but you can get a better discount around the holidays (at least 15%).

I inherited a 1920s small club chair and ottoman from my grandfather. It's solid as a tank and from NC and I'd like to have it recovered. Any recs for who does this best? Any recs for fabric swath sources?
