Subject: what colleges are getting a lot harder to get into (and will continue to get harder)
I hate seeing so many school my DC is interested in on this list.
I don't feel like USC has gotten harder. It's basically been a lottery for awhile. They haven't let in more than 2 kids per year from our high school.
Clemson has gotten harder.

Lots of private school kids getting into these schools this year. Much more than in the past.
Esp Duke, USC and Michigan…

Agree with your list OP, the applications at those schools continue to rise every year. They are popular and the acceptance rates just keep going down.
Also UF UGA UTAustin NYU
To a smaller extent BC Tulane UMiami

I think this year was peak population for American 18 year olds. Plus with many selective schools going back to test mandatory, it should become a little more sane in the years ahead

Maybe not too relevant on this board but Rutgers was way harder this year since it joined the common app. Lots more applications and in state kids who expected to get in and genuinely wanted to go (and financially were counting on it) were rejected or waitlisted.

I’ll add the SLAC. Near impossible unless you’re an athletic recruit or attend prep school.

USC may be harder for OOS, but it’s not quite as hard for those in-state, despite being private.
Agree with others.

Michigan got 105K apps this year-all time record. Crazy hard admit!
