Drink first, then within 5-10 minutes salad, bread, appetizer; about the time you are finishing those the entrees should arrive. You should have water to drink with your food and only order another drink when and if you want one.

I'm just drinking ice water so bring the food when it's ready. But if my food is salty, please notice if I have no more water and bring me more, otherwise I can't eat.

Food should be served when it’s ready. It would be impossible to time that with a tables drink orders.

I want my drink while I'm waiting for the food. I don't want to sit at the table with no food or drink.
