I don’t live in Maryland, but I would expect the insurance company to cover the claim. Assuming the driver was ticketed, your insurance rates will double.

Yes, I meant would the insurance coverage still be valid if the new driver caused an accident? As an example, if the new driver gave a friend a lift to soccer practise and caused an accident on the way.
