Can't you check with your club to see if that's something that's a possibility? The clubs will usually give you a heads up if disbanding the lower team is a possibility.

FWIW MYS just posted their coaching assignments and the current coach for the lower level 09 AND 08 team is returning and teams will be in place.

For what it’s worth child has been on the team for 5+ years and is happy so it’s not interested in leaving.

As the kids get older they usually make the teams bigger, going from maybe 18 players to 22 or more. So you may have a spot on the team above if the current team disbands.

Yes, I believe at many clubs the bottom team because the next higher teams and some kids from that higher team move up and bottom team players move up.

I have heard the bottom team for Alexandria at this age group will not exist. They will have two teams next year instead of the three they had had for a while.

By 9th or 10th grade, many kids move on to other sports or stop playing altogether, especially if not on higher-level teams. So, yeah less teams. But it's not disbanding as much as there just aren't as many kids playing.

No, at least a quarter of the players on these teams are in 8th grade still.

Hmm... My 09 had the largest kindergarten class since then.

I'm hearing many 09 bottom teams may disband next season since kids go play high school sports. Is that true?
