This is not exactly what you asked, but all low-income 4-year-olds in MCPS are eligible for pre-k, at an elementary near where they live.
So, all ES have a Pre-K program in their ES building? What's the difference between a Pre-K in an ES building and one that is say at Rockville HS? Are the ones at the HS also for lower-income families or can anyone apply? Will call HS to ask if they have a program and eligibility requirements.
No, not all ES have a Pre-K program in their ES building.
The ones in an ES building will be staffed 100% by adults and the ones in the HS are staffed by HS students under the supervision of child development teachers.
The HS-based programs are not designed to meet the needs of low-income children, but to teach high school students about early childhood development. So it may be possible for anyone to apply.
