Not sure about ticket price
$54 for dinner
$65 for bus/transport
$295 for dress
Guessing 150 for hair/nails

Yeah my daughter bought a vintage dress off depop for like $350. It was a lot but I figured senior prom only happens once. Now reading some of these posts with costs under $100 I’m
feeling a bit like a sucker 😀

I showed my DD all of the posts where girls are trying to resell their dresses because once they wear it, they don’t want it anymore. She finally got it that it wasnt that big of a deal and bought the $60 dress. It it was my DD’s money I might think it’s a dumb idea but I wouldn’t care.

This is very, very close to us. No nails but dress alterations.

I guess this reveals my ignorance. But girls don't do their own hair?

I counted hair but really she just scheduled her regular cut appointment for right before prom so I lumped it into the cost.

Do students not attending prom attend only the after-function?

Some pool $ and rent. Depends on your or your kid's budget. How about a scooter?

My kid who doesn't typically participate in these things is going with 30 of their closest friends. Party bus, dinner, prom. No official (school/pta sponsored) after party seems to exist but not sure if they will go to someone's house. I've no idea of cost. I paid for the dress (I think around $70) but kid is paying for the rest.

$65 prom ticket, $15 after prom. Kids are driving themselves. Suit, shirt, tie & vest about $125 total. Using shoes he already owns.

I assume it depends on the school. My senior is going. I think the ticket was right around $75. Going with friends, and wearing a suit, no tux. We bought him a pair of shoes, but something he should have anyway.

His school is having an after party at the same locale as the prom, which is nice. It goes all night, and no cost to the kids thanks to fundraising by the PTA/Senior volunteers.

I think both the prom and after party are well attended, but don’t know for sure.

$90 for ticket, $60 for dress but that will vary massively amongst attendees, using shoes she already has, guessing $150 for nails and hair. Parents will drive them. Likely there will be a meal, but not sure if it will be out or at one of the houses. There is an after prom event, but mine isn’t going and my older kids didn’t either, so not sure about attendance.

Is your kid going? How much was is their total cost --- ticket + clothing, shoes etc. Does at least half of a senior class typically attend? And do schools have an after prom event for students to hang out until the late (or early) hours? Is the after event well attended?
