Entirely dependent on what kid likes, same as kids attending co-ed schools. Community theater, local choir or orchestra or band (school of rock, etc); local/traveling sports teams; art classes or other kinds of enrichment activities (sailing, swimming, cooking, coding, martial arts). Summer camps for sure.

Just know that as they get into HS they will have much less time for non-school activities. Things like music or theater would likely be coordinated with a brother school, though.

DS is on a sailing team, which is a great coed activity, often time girls and boys are competing on the same level, but also training together. There is almost no separation.

My kids are boys, they might be at your kid's "brother" school.

Summer swim has been a fantastic thing for both of them. Male and female friends who are n the neighborhood, who they also see outside of swim at the pool which leads to real friendships, and who are somewhat stable year to year.

For one kid, outside theater groups have also been a great place to make friends that have lasted.

What does she like to do? Outside of school, my kids (1 boy, 1 girl) do band, robotics, D&D, and rock climbing -- but those recommendations are useless if those aren't activities she likes.

Our 8yo DD will be attending an all girls school that goes up to 12th grade (we know, it's a quite a commitment).

We would love to hear from parents who have kids attending single gender schools - What are some coed opportunities/activities DD can participate in outside of school to get some interaction with boys? What has worked well vs not.
