Except for the weather issue

Seriously, a warm winter has ruined a lot of ice fishing and skiing. But at least the summers won't be as oppressive as southern Indiana.

That said, both are great classic college towns. I would be delighted for my child to go to either university

For business, Kelley.

Business is not even an academic subject. It's about connections, and Wisconsin has a much larger east coast population than IU does. Not to mention that as an overall university, Wisconsin is better than IU. What happens if he wants to add a major/switch a major?

I agree. If the cost is similar and / you can afford it, let her choose.

Wisco is more prestigious overall, but IU-Kelley is the more prestigious business school. If she's 100% sure (or close to it) that she'll stick with business, IU-Kelley is the no brainer, especially with it being that much cheaper.

I'd pony up for a real estate focus at Wisconsin but otherwise would lean toward IU. (If $$ really isn't a factor, though, I'd send her where she thinks she'll be more engaged and happier--that'll ultimately make the biggest difference.)

That's lucky. My son got pre-business Wisconsin and direct admit Kelly. He still wants Wisconsin likely. Has your daughter visited both? Does she have a preference?

I know WI is a better overall school but Indiana’s business school is very highly ranked. Wisconsin School of Business is no slouch either, but doesn’t seem to have the pedigree that Kelley does.

Also, a merit offer is on the table for Indiana so would end up being about $12k year cheaper than WI. Cost is not a huge factor- wouldn’t have to take out loans to make up the difference, but that’s less money she could have for grad school.
