I do not add it to the tip. The bartender is stealing from the restaurant.

I usually throw in a few extra dollars, above the 20% before the item was comped. Makes sense to me since I'm saving money, might as well be generous.

Not in every place FYI. I do wish restaurants had to post their wages and tip practices to be available so people can understand where their money goes OR just stop the archaic practice of tipping anyways.

A good (and honest) bartender doesn't expect the equivalent of the drink cost in his/her tip.

I ate dinner by myself at the bar of a restaurant tonight, and ordered two drinks. The bartender comped my second drink, so I added the price of the drink onto his tip. Do you do this, too, or something else?
