Subject: Bus tracking pilot
Folks, do we actually think they were unable to to find a vendor to make this happen meeting whatever expectations? They need this $ to payout someone who until recently was working for MCPS. Where was that hard earned money of ya'll going to come from? Another failure for this year. Sad.

This seemed a clear communication and a reasonable response of the vulnerability found in the pilot. My guess is with no money to spend, MCPS does not find another pilot program for tracking to try anytime soon.

After careful evaluation, analysis, and monitoring of the pilot program, it was determined that the tested mobile application contained a vulnerability that could potentially expose student information. With this knowledge, even though no MCPS student data or information was exposed at any time, it was apparent that the piloted application could not meet our expectations. As a result, we have made the decision to end this specific pilot program.
I see Edulog had a vulnerability reported in the last few months. Anyone know if this is the vendor?

The point is to be able to track the bus, in the morning, before your kid is on it. Haven't you had any of those mornings at the bus stop when the bus just isn't there at the expected time, and no one knows whether or when it will show up?
