Did those winning top 3 places in SO got offered? At my DC’s school, kids winning top places all got rejected or waitlisted.

I think my DD is in the same school. They offered kids getting 5 and 6 places but not top 3 lol. To be fair, they didn’t have this information in the application.

Top 1.5% from each school got offers. These top 3 SO must not be in the top 1.5% of their school.

Depends on how you define top. Definitely, not GPA or Math and Science levels. If they use those clear criteria, there should not be much change in Asian percentage. That aside, even within Asian kids, who were selected was also much of a toss up.

All the top kids from their school got in. That's how the process works.

=============================
Carson Middle School 245 121 42
Longfellow Middle School 149 80 28
Lake Braddock Middle School 120 56 12
Rocky Run Middle School 127 54 24
Glasgow Middle School 88 51 15
Kilmer Middle School 113 49 TS

BTW - the “TS” stands for too small a number to list or under 10 students.

Yes, it's interesting that it was so low that year, but the following year, it tripled. Hopefully this year it's similar to last year.

Equity admissions can make it whatever the number needs to be.
