How are you not dead from botulism?

In college, my roommate bought an all in one telephone and answering machine. We recorded our outgoing message and noticed there was a little light that was always on. One day the light was off and we stopped getting messages. We tried to look for on on/off button and couldn’t find anything. Moving the phone around, we dropped it and light came back on. So everytime we lost power or light came off, we would drop it in the hopes that it would turn on again. It wasn’t until a year later that we discovered where the switch was.

My mom recently used RAID on herself instead of bug repellent! Oops! She was fine.

Ironing my clothes in the morning after an all night party decades ago, I inadvertently used spray deodorant instead of starch on my clothes. Discovered the mistake as I was finishing up, didn’t care, wore the clothes to work, didn’t notice a difference.

When we were renting our last house we had a garbage disposal clogging issue so I contacted the maintenance guy who came out to look at it. Turns out there was a sippy cup that had fallen into it, sitting straight up. Felt like a fool.

While deplaning in SFO, I was interviewed in an airport last week. It was really quick/I kept moving as I had to get to a meeting.... I heard them say something about an earthquake and made an ASSUMPTION that they were asking about retrofitting- I said something like "I think it's great- needs to be done!" and kept moving.... then the satellite delay in my brain, combined with the horrified look on the reporter's face made me realize I answered the question wrong... I then realized they were asking people just off the plane about the earthquake in Taiwan. Ughhh yikes, I just kept moving... I'm an idiot/total Larry David moment.

My daughter lived with someone in college who was using Bounce liquid only to wash her clothes. She always complained about her smelling bad.

The first time I did my own laundry in college I poured a cup of detergent into the dryer and ran my clothes in it a full cycle. Realized my mistake an hour later when I had very hot, sticky clothes.

Yesterday in trying to get the plastic off a wrapped english cucumber my hand slipped and I cut my thumb with my other finger. No knives were involved. I felt like such an idiot.

Could be worse OP, in college I put dish soap in the dishwasher and then texted my landlord that his dishwasher was broken when it flooded the kitchen.

In good news there was no permanent damage and the floors were really clean. 😂

In all seriousness though I’m glad to hear there are other people in this world who do dumb stuff like this too.

^ Adding- I'm speaking specifically about Seventh Generation. They don't use the same chemicals to create sudsing that companies like Tide do.

Its really not that different that what you use for dishes... ingredients are pretty similar. It just marketing.
