For our kids, we had great trips to countries where we had been (so could plan a good itinerary) and where we know people that we could visit. Sounds like you're taking kind of the opposite approach, though.

Why Peru? It's a big country so what do you want to do?

Slovenia. Ljubljana is small, pretty and charming. Lake Bled is gorgeous and lovely for swimming. Piran is a pretty coastal town. All easy to get to.

I would do a farm stay in one of the Scandinavian countries close enough to cities / lego land type places.

Scandanavia- copenhagen, bergen (and fjords), Stockholm.

Might be biased as I'm replying while watching the sunset over a fjord.

OP, if you're trying to check princess and dance boxes with a 6yo, Ireland and its castles would certainly fit the bill. Very kid friendly.

OP here. I want to see someplace new, so those countries I listed are places I haven't gone to that aren't also just beaches. Of all, of them, I'm most excited about Greece, Peru and Chile but for Peru and Chile, I don't know how well it would be for a young kid, hence my posting. Maybe someone has gone and has advice or suggestions.

I hope to go to Ireland and Scotland as a family (with her older sibling) but I also wanted to hear from others in case there's a place I hadn't thought of that would be good. For instance, I took my oldest to Luxembourg not b/c I wanted to go or even had it on my list but based on a coworkers recommendation and it was great.

Op, where do YOU want to go? You must know. She'll be fine. Just go at 1/3 pace, get plenty of naps, find parks or ways she can run around.

If it’s only for one week, I would minimise the time difference as you don’t know how long it will take her to adjust. Probably not Chile - the best stuff is either in the north or south and takes time to travel between them.

What do you prefer? Cities, beaches, countryside. Lots of activities or more chill?

Prague and Cesky Krumlov. Castles and plenty to see.

Budapest. River cruise, thermal baths, ...

Krakow. A gem of a city and very easy to explore.

This is a bizarre post. Firstly, the EU counties you mention not having visited are probably among the best options in the region with a young kid. More importantly, why on earth would your husband ban you from taking your daughter to Malta of all places?

I'd like to take her to a place I haven't been so that limits me as I've been all over Europe (almost all EU countries, except Croatia, Greece, Ireland, Scotland, and some eastern European countries). For S. America I was thinking Peru and Chile.
